Situation 2- It's illegal! Why do you think the free download sites are all so shady? They're often covered in popups, and we already talked about the spyware they try and offload. Do you think legal sites would do that? Let's get something straight-downloading from P2P sites is illegal. Period. The US government are tightening the laws on this all the time, and yes people do go to jail! Is it worth risking jail just to download a free Ipod song or movie? I don't think so.
Situation 3- I think it must be really easy to set up an illegal P2P download site, because there are certainly enough of them around.
